About The BIA

About the BIA

What is a BIA?

In a BIA, businesses agree to pay additional taxes, which are collected by the municipality and given back to the BIA to run BIA initiatives. Our BIA runs along King Avenue from North Street to the plaza at Brookhouse Dr.

The BIA serves this community by focusing on the following issues:
1.  Economic environment and public perception of the area;
2. Municipal policy and infrastruction affecting the area;
3. Function and physical appearance of the area; and
4. Marketing and promoting the area.

The goal is to pool individual efforts to create an environment that supports local businesses and makes Newcastle a destination of choice for visitors and residents alike.

Message from the President

On behalf of the businesses in Newcastle, I am privileged to welcome residents and visitors to the Village of Newcastle in the Municipality of Clarington.

It is inspiring to work with a group of dedicated business owners, who show time and again that it is possible to honour the past while also welcoming the future.

See what Newcastle has to offer. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Barrister & Solicitor
