NEWCASTLE COMMUNITY TOWN HALL

The Hall is located in the heart of the village, is a treasured artifact to the Village.  Built in 1923 by the Massey family, it was later passed on as a gift to the Municipality of Clarington. Over the years it has housed a theatre, jail cells, council chambers and many events. There is also a four lane bowling ally in the hall that is available for private parties and it’s home of the Newcastle Historical Society Museum. Newcastle Community hall is a lovely venue for gatherings, such as weddings, sporting banquets, showers, business meetings and birthdays! The Newcastle Branch was newly constructed in August 2009, and features a colourful children’s area, a quiet study room, a meeting room with digital projector, and exterior reading benches.

CLARINGTON FARMERS MARKET

MEDICAL FACILITIES
The Village is served by Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, a 100-bed community hospital. There are a number of Family Physicians practicing in Bowmanville and Newcastle, as well as an Urgent Care clinic in Bowmanville.

NEWCASTLE SCHOOLS
Public, grades 1-6, Newcastle Public School. Separate, grades 1-8, St. Francis of Assisi. The Senior Public School, grades 7&8, is The Pines. The public high school, grades 9-12, Clarke High School. The Secondary Separate Highschool, St Stephens.is located in Bowmanville. Durham College and UOIT are within 20 minutes of the Village of Newcastle. Sir Sandford Fleming and Trent University are within 40 minutes of Newcastle.
